Why - How - Wow!

Dinghystraps come in different lengths to suit any dinghy. For extra protection, edge protectors are also available. Trolley Packs can be used to carry a trolley on top of the boat without putting excessive load on the boat underneath.

Dinghystraps signature colors are BLACK, RED and GREY. The buckle protectors are made from high quality wetsuit neoprene (NR) and are glued and stitched to maximize durability. They are also available separately should they be lost or worn out.

All strap packs come in a practical mesh-bag to keep your straps organized and dry.

The buckle protectors are marked "FRONT" and "BACK" for a reason; Once you have adjusted and set the length of the front and back straps once, you will enjoy fast loading and strapping over and over again without any re-adjusting.

Despite being the most convenient tie-down strap on the market, safety always comes first. All webbing and thread is made from selected UV-resistant polyester to withstand everyday use for years. The alloy buckles are made in Sweden and the marine grade stainless steel adjusters are selected and tested for durability and longevity.

The Why

  • Quick and intuitive.
  • Throws against the wind.
  • No risk for car scratches and dents as all metal parts are padded.
  • Designed to prevent over-tightening that could potentially damage your boat.

The How

  • Thanks to the protective padding, simply throw the buckle end over the car, hook on and tighten up!
  • Straps are marked FRONT / BACK to prevent re-adjusting once the strap lengths have been set.
  • Fold up the loose end and hide it inside the buckle protector. Ready to go.

The Boring

  • UV-stable polyester webbing and stitching.
  • Webbing breaking strength 7000N.
  • Swedish made alloy buckles.
  • Marine grade stainless steel adjusters.
  • Glued and sticked neoprene protection.
  • Made in Sweden.

Our history

The idea behind Dinghystraps was born in 2010 when our kids started to sail optimist and we suddenly found ourselves loading and unloading oppies on a weekly basis. We then used standard cam buckle type straps. Unfortunately, we found they would easily hit and damage our car, and the loose end was annoyingly difficult to throw over to the other side, especially with two boats on the roof - virtually impossible on a windy day.  So, we started to experiment. We wanted a more simple strap that would require only the buckle end to be thrown over the car. In 2011 we came out with the first prototype, and in 2012 we sold the very first set.
